STREGA Tour 2022

On Friday 8th of July at 9:30 p.m. Fondazione Ugo Da Como welcomed Mario Desiati, winner of the 2022 Strega Prize Edition in the Gardens of House of Podestà, assigned on the 7th (first Thursday of July according to the tradition) with official ceremony in the Nymphaeum of Villa Giulia in Rome.
 
For the first time in the history of the Award, seven books were accepted, instead of five, two ex aequo in the fifth place, while the seventh by reason of article 7 of voting rules, which tells: “ if not at least one book published by a medium small publisher is not included in the rankings of the first five books (as defined according to the rankings of trade associations and the following evaluations of management committee), the book with the biggest score will access to the second vote, resulting in a six-candidate (or more) final”.
 
 
The total of expressed preferences determined the following finalists at the LXXVI Edition:
· Mario Desiati, «Spatriati» (Einaudi editore) with 244 preferences
· Claudio Piersanti, «Quel maledetto Vronskij» (Rizzoli) with 178 preferences
· Marco Amerighi, «Randagi» (Bollati Boringhieri editore) with 175 preferences
· Veronica Raimo, «Niente di vero» (Einaudi editore) with 169 preferences
· Fabio Bacà, «Nova» (Adelphi Edizioni) with 168 preferences
· Alessandra Carati, «E poi saremo salvi» (Mondadori) with 168 preferences
· Veronica Galletta, «Nina sull’argine», (minimum fax) with 103 preferences
 
The evening represented a unique appointment in the panorama of the cultural activities expected on Lake Garda during the summer season, made possible – in the frame of the project ESSAYS. Summer residence for Italian non-fiction translators – thanks to the partnership with Centro per il libro e la lettura and through an active involvement of Fondazione Goffredo e Maria Bellonci and Premio Strega.
